On-ramp
An on-ramp is the process of converting traditional money (like the Brazilian real) into crypto assets — for example, paying with PIX and receiving stablecoin.
An on-ramp is the path that brings traditional money into the crypto world. In practice, it's when a user pays in reais — via PIX, for example — and receives the equivalent amount in a stablecoin such as USDC or USDT.
A good on-ramp must be fast and frictionless: the deposit in reais should land and turn into crypto in seconds, or the user gives up. It's what exchanges and crypto products use to receive customer deposits.
