How to receive stablecoin payments in Brazil using PIX
Published on by Astron Pay

More and more companies in Brazil want to get paid in reais through the convenience of PIX, but hold or operate in stablecoins such as USDC and USDT. In this guide, we show how that flow works in practice and what to watch for to run it safely in production.
Why combine PIX and stablecoins?
PIX solves collection: it is instant, cheap and universal in Brazil. Stablecoins solve the other side: they let you hold value in digital dollars and move funds globally, 24 hours a day, without depending on banking hours.
By combining the two, your company receives reais via PIX and, in the same operation, converts to a stablecoin — without having to build the entire FX, custody and blockchain infrastructure in-house.
How the conversion flow works
The process has three steps: (1) you request a quote via the API and receive the exact conversion amount, valid for a few seconds; (2) the payer sends the PIX; (3) upon confirmation, the platform converts the amount and credits the stablecoin to the defined wallet.
Because the quote is locked before the order, the price does not change mid-way — giving predictability to you and to your customer.
KYC and compliance
Operations involving FX and crypto assets require identifying end users (KYC). Ideally, document analysis and approval happen on the payments platform itself, with the result delivered to your application via webhook — so you don't have to build that process from scratch.
Reconciliation and tracking
Every collection and every conversion should generate traceable entries, reconcilable per order. A double-entry ledger, accessible via API and dashboard, lets you audit balances, fees and settlements without parallel spreadsheets.
Going to production
Start with an isolated sandbox: create a user, generate a quote and create an order. With just a few REST calls you validate the end-to-end flow before going live.
This is exactly the path Astron Pay offers: a single API to receive via PIX and convert to stablecoins, with locked quotes, KYC and confirmation webhooks.
